When being overly nice is fake...and to be a friend or win a friend??

I know some people who I've met in my doctorate program here. There is this one specific person, who I'll call bigmouth...well bigmouth is overly nice to everyone; I mean to a point that bigmouth will comment on something and say it's okay even when everyone knows it probably wasn't the best...you know at times it's okay to admit yah, you fumbled, but heck you'll do better next time..nah to bigmouth, it's more like "oh that's still good!! Oh that's still good"..gimme a break, it's so fake, I can hardly keep the laughter inside me..

THEN...bigmouth isn't too keen or good at winning friends. I mean, to bigmouth, if you wanna get a friend, you don't just talk to them..you buy this friend presents. And what kind of a friend is it that takes the presents?? hello...I donno, but if I had a friend who constantly gave me a present every time she came over, I'd start to wonder..and finally would get the guts to tell her to stop...Anyways, Big mouth has totally gotta learn a way to get friends..or even be friends.

Friends like you for who you are...not for what you can buy them, or persuade them with....hmmm..something bigmouth needs to consider..

The above is a saying I've kept to heart forever! I've had some friends now days say that I live a life of a "rich" graduate student. well I guess I wouldn't say that, nor would I toot my own horn on saying that. I suppose it all depends on spending money wisely. Also...I have one notion in life, "never let money rule your life"...whatever you want, get it, if it is feasible..and if not this month, then get it next month..And never worry about money, because God will always provide one with support if he/she believes in it. I've never worried, and for the most part have not had to worry.. Thank God!
